Trick or Treat

Vienna residents will spend 7.2 million Euros on Halloween this year - up from 6.5 million last year - according to the Vienna Economy Chamber (WKW).

WKW said today (Weds) 22 per cent of city residents would buy sweets, decorations, costumes or pumpkins for the 31 October celebration.

It added that a Makam poll had revealed Viennese would spend an average of 25 Euros apiece on Halloween items, with men shelling out 28 Euros and women 23 Euros on average.

Poll results show 68 per cent are planning to buy sweets, down from 75 per cent last year, and 32 per cent are planning to buy pumpkins, down from 36 per cent last year. Thirty-four per cent are planning to buy decorations and 20 per cent costumes.

The results also reveal that 25 per cent of city residents are planning to celebrate Halloween, with 10 per cent planning to do so at home and eight per cent at pubs or friends’ homes. Only two per cent are planning to go trick or treating, however.

奧地利人傳統係喺11月1去拜山.而奧地利南部有個城市今年開始禁咗小朋友慶祝Halloween,冇得trick or treat. 佢哋話呢個唔係奧地利節日.唔應該promote.

咁又係!點解大家要慶祝美國節日呢?代表美國文化侵略成功?另一方面,依家都全球化,大家係咪應該將各國嘅節日融入自己嘅文化呢?
