柏林圍牆倒下二十週年/20th anniversary of the fall of Berlin Wall

上回講我由Potsdamer Platz行到去Alexanderplatz. 今年係柏林圍牆倒下二十週年. 喺Potsdamer Platz度睇咗個有關嘅圖片展覽. 嗰度嘅information設計成一個看台咁. 可以行上去週圍望,好似以前啲人遙望東柏林.



In my last blog I mentioned that I walked from Potsdamer Platz to Alexanderplatz.  This year is the 20th anniversary of the fall of Berlin Wall.  There was a picture exhibition in Potsdamer Platz and the information centre was designed like a planform.  You can walk up and look to the former East Berlin.

喺Potsdamer Platz不褸都有一塊圍牆

There is always a piece of the Berlin Wall in Potsdamer Platz.

唔知幾時多咗幾塊

But I don't know since when there are more.

睇啲資料當時為咗起圍牆,民居教堂被拆,棺木要搬

According to the information, in order to build the wall, people needed to knocked down houses and a church.  Even some coffins in a cemetery needed to be moved away.

而依家最駭人嘅係…..圍牆側邊黐滿香口膠.

Nowadays the most disgusting thing is....sticking chewing gum to the side of the wall.

喺Alexanderplatz透完搭地鐵U8去Bernauer Straße嘅Dokumentationszentrum Berliner Mauer (Berlin Wall Documentation Centre)

After a break in Alexanderplatz I took the subway U8 to the Berlin Wall Documentation Centre on Bernauer Street.

路經圖片上嘅教堂原址,已經起咗一間新教堂

And I went pass the place where the church was blew down in the above pic.  There is a new church on the same place now.

There was another picture exhibiton nearby.

點知Documentation Centre星期一唔開.唯有上觀景台睇睇

Damn! The Documentation Centre closes on Monday.  But, at least, I could go up to the observation deck.

喺呢度可以睇到圍牆仲有一重又一重嘅圍欄, 可以想像當時要投奔西方幾咁難.

As you can see, there are two more layers of fences.  It was so diffcult for East Berliner to escape for freedom.

The one with drawings or graffiti was dug by people, totally destroyed.
